1st Annual Trail & Pie Day

Sunday, September 30

Join Church of the Woods as we celebrate all the goodness that comes with eating pie as we honor St. Francis of Assisi, celebrate our 4th birthday, and launch our Church of the Woods trail network.

All are welcome to attend for any part of or all of the day/weekend!
Free & family-friendly

Please use our free registration (found here) before September 21st so we know how many pies to have!

Sunday, September 30

~ 7:30 am ~
Sunrise yoga
(dress warmly & bring your own mat)

~ 8:15 am ~
Breakfast
(we’ll provide oatmeal, bagels w/ cream cheese & jam, fruit & coffee/tea)

~ 9 am ~
Service of contemplation & Communion

~ 10:30 am ~
Presentation of pies

~ 11 am ~
Blessing of our trails,
followed by guided trail walks or personal contemplative time in the woods

~ 12:30 pm ~
Potluck lunch — with PIE!

~ 1:30 pm ~
Guided trail walks or personal contemplative time in the woods

~ 3 pm ~
Service of contemplation & Communion

** We will have plenty of pies on Sunday — however, please consider bringing a pie or something that “goes with pie” to share **

Also bring the following if possible: water bottle, travel mug for cider/tea, silverware, plate/bowl

Saturday, September 29: Cookout & Camping

~ 3-4 pm ~
Blessing of the Animals Service
(held on the front lawn of Canterbury United Community Church — 5 Center Rd, Canterbury)

~ 5-9 pm ~
potluck dinner, followed by a campfire & Campfire Communion service

** Consider bringing your tent and camping at Church of the Woods overnight — set up any time after 4 pm **
~ check this website 1-2 days before the event to determine if the weather will allow for camping ~

Also bring the following if possible: water bottle, travel mug for cider/tea, silverware, plate/bowl
