** Admission is rolling, so apply early! **

The School of Living Water is an 18-month training program for guides of wild pilgrimage within the network of River of Life Pilgrimages of Kairos Earth. Guides of these pilgrimages are responsible for the physical safety of pilgrims, on-trip decision making and leadership, group dynamics and team building, and the spiritual stewardship of the pilgrimage. A lack of care and/or competence in any of these realms can result in serious damage to bodies, souls, or the natural world. But done well, these pilgrimages create the space for deep conversion of heart, reconciliation between humanity and the earth, and a signpost of the living Christ at work in all of creation.

The program is open to people who are planning to guide a wild pilgrimage within the next two years – we are training people for specific work, rather than a ‘skills development’ or personal enrichment program for use by individuals not directly involved with the work of facilitating wild pilgrimage.

The training begins with a two-week intensive in northern New England and includes a winter retreat, ongoing support as the guides-in-training and the rest of their local team prepare for their upcoming pilgrimage, an apprenticeship on a River of Life Pilgrimage, and a closure weekend for their cohort. Guides-in-training complete their training and obtain certification as River of Life Guides after guiding a wild pilgrimage in their own region, based on the model and standards of River of Life Pilgrimages.
